The Lord Jesus, as the Lamb of God and Arm of Yahweh (Isaiah 53:1-3), carried the weight of your pain, suffering and sickness.
Surely he has borne our sickness, and carried our suffering; yet we considered him plagued, struck by God, and afflicted. (Isaiah 53:4)
It is important to understand why this was necessary and what exactly it accomplished.
Our actions have consequences. Many of the things we do wrong have direct effects upon our body and mind. Under the Covenant of Moses, there were many curses spoken for those who rejected the truth of Yahweh and walked in sin and error. Their purpose was to awaken the person to their error, and hopefully cause them to turn from it and live. Many of the curses had to do with physical and mental health. Under that Covenant, the sins which caused the curses could be covered by the sacrifice of animals. These sin offerings had the sinner lay his hands upon the head of the animal before it was killed, a symbolic transfer of guilt. Then, the wages of sin, death, were paid. But this could never take away sins or their effects, but only cover them for a time.
These effects, though due to our own sin, were carried by the Son of God in our place, once and for all time. He bore the weight of the chastisement for our iniquities. He not only carried the pain, but took away the sin. There was no need for a covering, as His punishment on our behalf brought the sins to nothing. In the process, the effects of sin, sickness, pain and suffering, were brought to nothing as well!
But he was pierced for our transgressions. He was crushed for our iniquities. The punishment that brought our peace was on him; and by his wounds we are healed. (Isaiah 53:5)
Therefore, there is no reason for you to bear them! You do not have to carry the punishment for your sin; you do not have to endure pain, disease, mental anguish, madness or any other malady of body and mind that was caused by your sin. The Lamb of God has once and for all carried away all of these things for you.
On earth, He worked out this wonderful transacation. As the Son of Man, He carried the pains of the people. Even before His suffering and death on the Cross, He showed and gave to the people the taste of what was to come.
When evening came, they brought to him many possessed with demons. He cast out the spirits with a word, and healed all who were sick; that it might be fulfilled which was spoken through Isaiah the prophet, saying: "He took our infirmities, and bore our diseases."{Isaiah 53:4} (Matthew 8:16, 17)
Now that He has been crucified, resurrected and received up into heaven, He continues to effect the fruit of this work through His HolySpirit. The Gospel continues to be preached, and healing and deliverance continues to be brought to the masses.
The Mystery of Healing for Wounding
The great mystery of how God provided for your healing is that you are healed by the wounding of His Son. His pain brings you comfort. His being crushed brings you reconstitution. His being pierced brings you wholeness.
The Lord Yahweh, throughout the ages, has used this mystery to defy the works of Satan. As Satan attempts to pervert the perfection of Yahweh, always standing opposite Him to reverse His works, so does Yahweh use what Satan has attempted to rebuke Satan.
Satan perverts the blessing of health and wholeness by destroying and causing pain. Yahweh, in return, uses destruction and pain to bring health and wholeness. In this the glory of God is made manifest, that all things are under His control. He is Lord of heaven and earth. He saves by many or by few. There is nothing too difficult for Him, and His wisdom is beyond our understanding. The Devil is mocked by this method of God; Satan's own devices are used against him to bring us back to the perfection that Yahweh intended from eternity. The Son of God, JesusChrist, reigns victorious over all the works of the Enemy!
Entering the Reality of Freedom
What then is left for you to enjoy this freedom from the physical effects of sin? Only simple trust in what He has done. This gift, like any gift, must be received. The work has been done. As the Lord said before His death on the Cross, "it is finished" (John 19:30). Now the prophecy of Isaiah has been fulfilled.
But he was pierced for our transgressions. He was crushed for our iniquities. The punishment that brought our peace was on him; and by his wounds we are healed. (Isaiah 53:5)
who his own self bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live to righteousness; by whose stripes you were healed. (1 Peter 2:24)
By His wound, you have been healed. Now you must only trust the word and expect to see it experienced in your life. What suffering have you experienced due to your sin? Trust that has already been taken by the Son; you do not have to endure it any longer.
Following any gift, thanksgiving is natural. Thank the Father for providing for your deliverance. Thank Jesus for loving you enough to endure the beating and punishment of the Romans by the Jews, which bought you freedom. Thank the HolySpirit for bring the word of truth to you, birthing faith in your heart to receive it. Thank YahwehElohim for accomplishing this awesome work, for you!
As you read this site, you will hopefully come to know Yahweh more fully.
But all of this continuing knowledge is useless unless and until you come into union with Him. I use the word union because it is truly a marriage. It is that deep connection we all seek, for which we most often look in other people. However, the truth is that our hearts will only be fulfilled when we enter that union in fullness with the One Who made us.
This is the grace of God, that He has not stayed distant for us only to worship as Creator. But He has come unto us, even become one of us—in His Son, ChristJesus—in order to share an intimate union with us. He desires such closeness that it truly will envelope our entire life, transforming us into something new and wonderful.
You may have already entered this union with Him and only seek to know Him better through reading here. But if you have not, as you do read, let this Gospel sink into your heart as you read it now.
God loves you, and has cast your sins into the sea. He has sent His only Son as the Savior of the world—that includes you.
That Son, JesusChrist, was born as a man through a virgin who had given her life to Yahweh; He lived without sin, reflected the glory of His Father, God, in all His words and deeds, and was persecuted even unto death because of it.
His death upon a cross was the powerful explosion that separated you from your life of death. It remains for you, now, to enter into that death with Him. As you die to the one you are now, a person separated from God from your many sins, you will be born anew, with a nature predisposed to live rightly. This gift is free to you, with nothing you can do to earn it. It is the mercy of God to offer it to you, as He loves you so much! All you must do is receive it by trusting Him to have delivered you. Simply place your life in His hands and embrace the freedom that came through that death on the cross.
The Gospel is that Jesus did not remain dead, but rose again on the third day after His crucifixion! Death could not hold Him, as He was without sin. And so death will not be able to hold you, as you identify with Him fully through your trust in Him. Let go of yourself and confess Him as Lord of your life. The power of His death and resurrection will work in you all that your Creator has destined for you. You will truly enter a new life and experience that intimate union you have been seeking all of your life.
So ponder these words as you read here of this great God—Yahweh—and all that He has revealed to His creation. Let His Spirit testify to your heart that these words are true, that God is Love, and that He sent His Son so that you might receive the life that is unbound by time and space. As you feel that witness in your heart, simply believe and receive what He is offering to you, even now, and begin your new life as a child of God.
