Satan, the Adversary, is the first and primary opponent of both Yahweh and His people.
He has many titles, including Devil, Satan, the (Great) Dragon, the Old Serpent, and the Deceiver of the whole World (Revelation 12:9).
The Enemy of God is primarily known as "Satan." This word comes from Hebrew, שטן, meaning "adversary, opponent, one who withstands." This is the definition of an enemy, someone who opposes another or stands in their way.
Satan attempts to prevent Yahweh from doing what He has planned, and thus also stands in the way of all those who follow Yahweh.
This section will look at who he is, what he does, and how we as the people of God may overcome him daily until he is once for all thrown into the Lake of Fire for eternity (Revelation 20:10).
The great dragon was thrown down, the old serpent, he who is called the devil and Satan, the deceiver of the whole world. He was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him. (Revelation 12:9)
