Having gone to sleep praying in the Spirit, I had this dream in the middle of night:

I was watching a TV show hosted by a Christian man named Mark, probably in his late 20s-early 30s. I was amazed at the authority this man had in teaching the Word of God, while also being uncommonly humble and matter-of-fact in his preaching. He had no ulterior motives, and was completely devoted to living for God the best he could. He simply spoke the truth of Yahweh in the Spirit of God.

This show he was answering questions on several different issues in Christians' lives, most of which I unfortunately cannot remember. However, he ended with the subject of "work" and his experience, and I believe the context of it was work "for God" and perhaps even further, relating to the subject of the Sabbath (whether it is ok to do work on it now, etc.).

"So, what about work? I couldn't think of any specific places it was mentioned in the New Testament, and having to go through the whole Old Covenant and piece things together bit by bit would have been very unfortunate... so I went to Psalms to read, as I was in mourning over this issue. That night I had a dream... A person was walking up a mountain and finally got to the top. He then heard a voice come to him, almost startling him, as it was if he was outside himself and calling to himself from a short distance. When I woke up, the Lord showed me that He wants to bring each of us to the place of His Voice becoming just as familiar as is our own."

At this, he concluded with a few words and the credits began to roll. At the top it was written,

"As always, pray for Mark... and that our hearts would be as open as his is..."

When I woke up, I sensed the presence of God all around me. I knew this was a message from Him. How profound yet awesome is His Word to us—He wants to bring us to a special place, just like that person who was climbing the mountain. That place is where God's Voice will be just as familiar to us as is our own.

Like the person in Mark's dream, it will almost startle us when we hear His Voice coming from outside ourselves because it sounds so much like ourselves. This is because we have become so much part of Him that it is almost impossible to tell the difference between our will and His will.

And, as the workers who rolled the credits asked, let us pray that our hearts would become as open as that man Mark's was—because he was not afraid to confront hard issues in life and honestly search for their resolutions in God's Word. He humbled himself, knowing that Yahweh alone had the answers, and that humility combined with that zeal in reaching the goal is what we should all strive for. That is the Father's plan for each one of us, including you!

Submit to this plan and let Him lead you up the mountain, as you spend time with Him in communion every day, and eventually you will reach that place—that summit—where His voice has become as familiar to you as your own. Praise Yahweh!
