The Son

⁸Be careful that you don’t let anyone rob you through his philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the elements of the world, and not after Christ. ⁹For in him all the fullness of the Deity dwells bodily, Colossians 2:8-9

The invisible God of Eternity has not left Himself hidden for all time. Throughout the ages He has given humankind glimpses of Himself and His glory. Through the revelation of the New Covenant, we see that it is the similitude of the Lord Jesus Who has been seen by men. It is He Who is the messenger of Yahweh's face (Exodus 23:20-23) (Isaiah 63:9) (John 1:18), the only Son (John 3:16) (1 John 1:3), the Word (1 Samuel 3:21) (John 1:1) (Revelation 19:13), and the Christ of Yahweh (Psalms 2:1-7) (John 1:41).

⁶seeing it is God who said, “Light will shine out of darkness,” who has shone in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. 2 Corinthians 4:6

This manifest One of the Deity, Who serves to reveal the invisible perfection of Yahweh, has been chosen to save humankind, to serve as our perfect model, to act as our high priest, to rule our lives, and to receive glory, honor, and power as the risen Son of Man. He has forever been the object of the Heavenly Father's Love. All wisdom, knowledge and understanding rests in the Son of God!

To learn of the invisible Father, we must learn of His Son. The Son has been manifested for our good, to teach us about the Lord of heaven. In learning of the Son, we see the Father Who remains unseen. In spending time in the presence of the Son, we discover the personality of the Father Who remains unseen. In obeying the Son, we obey the Father Who has given all judgement into His hand. Finally, we can enter into the joy of having fellowship with not only the Father, but the Son as well (1 John 1:3).

Indeed, all the fullness of what it means to be Yahweh—Creator, Redeemer, King, and everything else that is Deity—abides and tabernacles in this Anointed One. Let us, as the apostle says, not be robbed by philosophy and vain deceit, and not go after traditions of men which take us away from the truth of the true Deity, Yahweh, that is embodied in His Son.
