True Power vs. Worldly Entertainment
I didn't realize this dream actually had a meaning until I told my dad about it. After listening to him, and thinking and praying about it some more, I realize that God has a message in it, in addition to it having been exciting to dream.
I was in a large entertainment complex, waiting to meet some people late at night. There were video games and other amusement type things everywhere. As I was walking around waiting for the others, I was watching a large TV screen with various things on it. It talked about the complex and what was in it. Suddenly all the lights dimmed and the TV screen went blank. Then it flashed a message...
"And now we are taking time to honor the Name of our Lord."
The power going down was to prepare for what was happening next. The screen went blank again, then went very bright as the Hebrew letters יהוה (YHWH, Yahweh) began to be drawn on the screen in ornate script from the right to the left. When it was done, I was completely shocked that such a place would know God and even care to honor His Name.
After this happened, a little board appeared in front of me, and was floating. I stepped on it, but it didn't fall to the ground. It supported my weight. I then was able to move around the room just by thinking where I wanted to go. Other people around me wanted me to get down, but I told them how this is what I always wanted—to fly.
This dream is really a description of life in the Spirit. Once we decide to use the power that normally is used for entertainment in the flesh (the complex I was in) for honoring Yahweh's Name, we are greeted with a whole new level of "entertainment." God gives us the desires of our hearts—He enables us to do the impossible. However, sometimes people will get fed up with us continuing to operate in this new dimension, using what God has given us. Some people won't understand. But we must be bold in telling them that this—life in the Spirit—is what we have always been wanting.
Also notice the contrast—this was an entertainment area, where the senses were amazed. However, none of what was there compared to the power released when Yahweh's Name was honored. Then the true amazement began as not just in imagination but truth impossible things were done (levitating). The true (God's power) had come to replace the counterfeit (the world's pretending), through taking away from the worldly (cutting the power) the honoring of God (using the equipment [TV] to glorify His Name).
My friend, I encourage you to make a conscious decision to "cut the power" to your flesh—at least in half, as in the dream—and to use it to honor God instead. When you do, it will be bright and glorious, and the results will be you being transported into a whole new dimension. Use your strength to glorify the Name of Yahweh and He will work with you.
16Don’t you know that when you present yourselves as servants and obey someone, you are the servants of whomever you obey; whether of sin to death, or of obedience to righteousness? 17But thanks be to God, that, whereas you were bondservants of sin, you became obedient from the heart to that form of teaching to which you were delivered. 18Being made free from sin, you became bondservants of righteousness. 19I speak in human terms because of the weakness of your flesh, for as you presented your members as servants to uncleanness and to wickedness upon wickedness, even so now present your members as servants to righteousness for sanctification. Romans 6:16-19
14But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, for its lusts. Romans 13:14
22Flee from youthful lusts; but pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart. 2 Timothy 2:22
11Beloved, I beg you as foreigners and pilgrims, to abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul; 12having good behavior among the nations, so in that of which they speak against you as evildoers, they may by your good works, which they see, glorify God in the day of visitation. 1 Peter 2:11-12
1Therefore, since Christ suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves also with the same mind; for he who has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin; 2that you no longer should live the rest of your time in the flesh for the lusts of men, but for the will of God. 3For we have spent enough of our past time doing the desire of the Gentiles, and having walked in lewdness, lusts, drunken binges, orgies, carousings, and abominable idolatries. 4They think it is strange that you don’t run with them into the same excess of riot, blaspheming: 5who will give account to him who is ready to judge the living and the dead. 6For to this end the Good News was preached even to the dead, that they might be judged indeed as men in the flesh, but live as to God in the spirit. 7But the end of all things is near. Therefore be of sound mind, self-controlled, and sober in prayer. 1 Peter 4:1-7
