The Old Covenant

¹³In that he says, “A new covenant”, he has made the first old. But that which is becoming old and grows aged is near to vanishing away. Hebrews 8:13

This Covenant was between the physical descendants of Jacob (Israel), and their fathers' God, Yahweh.

With it came a Law, and many promises.

²⁶“Take this book of the law, and put it by the side of the ark of Yahweh your God’s covenant, that it may be there for a witness against you. Deuteronomy 31:26

It also included provisions for the fulfillment of the original Promise to Abraham, to receive the Land of Canaan.

¹⁰and confirmed the same to Jacob for a statute; to Israel for an everlasting covenant, ¹¹saying, “To you I will give the land of Canaan, the lot of your inheritance”; Psalms 105:10-11
