This dream was the last one I had before waking up this morning. I was in a room where one of the U.S. Presidents was talking with his staff. He was laughing about something and then talking about war. He got serious and said that there were only certain times when he felt comfortable sending people to war and then opined condescendingly about whether a female president would have the same views as he.
At this point, one of his aides walked in, a man noticeably either Indian or Pakistani. I could tell that the people in the room did not take him very seriously, as though they were often ribbing him daily during his job. He held up a Bible and said, "I have my own Bible!" as though the people had been talking about something from scripture. They seemed a little taken aback that he had a Bible and had something to say from it.
The President said something to the effect of, "well, okay then, let's hear what so-and-so has to say!" (I can't remember the man's name, not sure if it was ever said). They all turned to the man and waited. He simply said,
"Turn to Second Corinthians 13:13."
I could see him open the Bible as though he was going to read it and then talk about it.
I believe there is a message specifically for me in this dream, as it is somewhat similar to another one I had years ago, but I also feel there is a truth here valid for every believer in the Lord.
God has children across the world. It is easy for us to become provincial in our thinking, because of how society operates. We are around people like ourselves our entire day. Unless we do a lot of traveling, we can tend to have a way of thinking develop that sees us and "them." This is not always even racial, but simply a matter of location.
Just like anything we don't regularly personally experience, we may start to think of it as less real or relevant, because of not interacting with it. We might see pictures of a certain place in the world, but it is a different experirence to visit it in person. Our view of it can change substantially once we are face to face with it.
In the same way, we may intellectually realize there are Christians around the world, but because of our inexperience with them, may tend to think of them as less important, or different than us and our own sphere of Christians. Like the man in my dream, those in authority in our life may shun them or not take them seriously. I know that this can happen even from city to city in the same State, especially in terms of "our church" versus "other churches."
The message in this dream reveals that they have something to say as well. Even if we don't expect it, God is working in them just like He is working in us. Our physical location doesn't give us any greater or less importance with God or each other. In the dream, the President was also comparing his views to that of his own concept of what a woman would think. It too had a feel of belitting, that surely a woman couldn't view things (i.e., in his mind, correctly) like he did.
The man's message of "Turn to 2 Corinthians 13:13" was a succint way to tell us: all saints greet us. All saints have something to say. All saints represent the Lord. All saints are important to Him. The immediate context of Paul's writing there was that we should all be of the same mind, living in peace, greeting one another with a holy kiss. We are one, big family, no matter the distanct.
The Body of Christ spans all time, as we see believers described as being in heaven "surrounding us" as a cloud of witnesses (Hebrews 12:1).
The Body also spans all locations, and the HolySpirit can use us to help each other, whether somewhat locally (Acts 9:10-21) or even across vast distances .
As Peter said, God shows no partiality to any man or people group (Acts 10:34-35). That revelation in context was about Peter accepting Gentiles as valid and full believers, just like the Jews. Even he had trouble keeping this truth foremost in his mind, and let his naturally-learned prejudices overshadow this spiritual truth (Galatians 2:11-14).
However, I believe there is a further message, revealed in this dream, to remind us in the modern Assembly that God sees this for each national or racial division of the Gentiles. Just as Peter said, in every nation, the man who does what is right is accepted by God. The nation does not matter, whether we are comparing Jews with all non-Jews, or comparing Gentiles with other Gentiles.
We, especially as Americans, may tend to think of believers from other nations as less important, because of natural, fleshly patriotism. But Yahweh reminds us that they too have messages from Him, no less or more than we do. They are used by Him, just as He uses us. There is no division by race, nation or ethnicity.
25But now that faith has come, we are no longer under a tutor. 26For you are all children of God, through faith in ChristJesus. 27For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ. 28There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free man, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in ChristJesus. (Galatians 3:25-28)
Remind yourself of this constantly! Don't belittle believers from other places, but put aside such fleshly shortcomings and embrace the reality that in Christ there is no such division—there is only Christ and members of His Body!
When you do this, you may surprised at how the Lord will use such people to speak to you!
As you read this site, you will hopefully come to know Yahweh more fully.
But all of this continuing knowledge is useless unless and until you come into union with Him. I use the word union because it is truly a marriage. It is that deep connection we all seek, for which we most often look in other people. However, the truth is that our hearts will only be fulfilled when we enter that union in fullness with the One Who made us.
This is the grace of God, that He has not stayed distant for us only to worship as Creator. But He has come unto us, even become one of us—in His Son, ChristJesus—in order to share an intimate union with us. He desires such closeness that it truly will envelope our entire life, transforming us into something new and wonderful.
You may have already entered this union with Him and only seek to know Him better through reading here. But if you have not, as you do read, let this Gospel sink into your heart as you read it now.
God loves you, and has cast your sins into the sea. He has sent His only Son as the Savior of the world—that includes you.
That Son, JesusChrist, was born as a man through a virgin who had given her life to Yahweh; He lived without sin, reflected the glory of His Father, God, in all His words and deeds, and was persecuted even unto death because of it.
His death upon a cross was the powerful explosion that separated you from your life of death. It remains for you, now, to enter into that death with Him. As you die to the one you are now, a person separated from God from your many sins, you will be born anew, with a nature predisposed to live rightly. This gift is free to you, with nothing you can do to earn it. It is the mercy of God to offer it to you, as He loves you so much! All you must do is receive it by trusting Him to have delivered you. Simply place your life in His hands and embrace the freedom that came through that death on the cross.
The Gospel is that Jesus did not remain dead, but rose again on the third day after His crucifixion! Death could not hold Him, as He was without sin. And so death will not be able to hold you, as you identify with Him fully through your trust in Him. Let go of yourself and confess Him as Lord of your life. The power of His death and resurrection will work in you all that your Creator has destined for you. You will truly enter a new life and experience that intimate union you have been seeking all of your life.
So ponder these words as you read here of this great God—Yahweh—and all that He has revealed to His creation. Let His Spirit testify to your heart that these words are true, that God is Love, and that He sent His Son so that you might receive the life that is unbound by time and space. As you feel that witness in your heart, simply believe and receive what He is offering to you, even now, and begin your new life as a child of God.
Please write to me and let me know when you take this step, as I will be your brother in Christ—we will be one in Him!
