Prayer in the Spirit the way to rest ourselves by means of the HolySpirit. Through praying in His languages, we build ourselves up upon and encourage ourselves in our faith, and allow rivers of living water to flow from our innermost being!
Although God prophesied of this great gift hundred of years before it was received by men, it truly has come to stay, until the Second Coming of our Lord JesusChrist.
16But this is what has been spoken through the prophet Joel: 17'It will be in the last days, says God, that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh. Your sons and your daughters will prophesy. Your young men will see visions. Your old men will dream dreams. (Acts 2:16-17)
Isaiah prophesied that speaking in another language would cause rest, and that it would be the refreshing ordained by God. Although this was a veiled prophecy when he gave it, it would come to light in the times of the revelation of the Son of God.
11But he will speak to this nation with stammering lips and in another language; 12to whom he said, "This is the resting place. Give rest to weary;" and "This is the refreshing;" yet they would not hear. (Isaiah 28:11-12)
Through the teachings of Christ's apostles, after Jesus ascended back to heaven and poured out the Promise of His Father, we see that this "other language" we would speak would actually be inspired by the HolySpirit. This agrees with the verse above, "with another language will he speak to this people."
I create the fruit of the lips: Peace, peace, to him who is far off and to him who is near, says Yahweh; and I will heal him. (Isaiah 57:19)
God speaks through us through the HolySpirit! Through this praying in other languages, we let rivers of living water flow from within our very spirit—indeed that "living water" is the HolySpirit poured out through the Risen Son of God.
38He who believes in me, as the Scripture has said, from within him will flow rivers of living water." 39But he said this about the Spirit, which those believing in him were to receive. For the HolySpirit was not yet given, because Jesus wasn't yet glorified. (John 7:38-39)
He, as Yahweh promised through Isaiah, will create the fruit of our lips, bringing peace to both those near and far (i.e., the believing Jew as well as the believing Gentile). Through His Spirit's work in us, as we pray in these languages given by Him, He will heal us.
19"Repent therefore, and turn again, that your sins may be blotted out, so that there may come times of refreshing from the presence of the Lord, 20and that he may send ChristJesus, who was ordained for you before, (Acts 3:19-20)
Throughout the New Covenant, we find that it is through God's Son that the HolySpirit comes to us.
Being therefore exalted by the right hand of God, and having received from the Father the promise of the HolySpirit, he has poured out this, which you now see and hear. (Acts 2:33)
Through the Lord Jesus we receive this blessed Spirit Who helps us in all areas of life. Because the Spirit comes through Jesus, sent by the Father, it is Christ Himself operating in us through His Spirit.
"Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. (Matthew 11:28)
Yielding to the HolySpirit through this prayer in other languages it is the medium by which His promises to us come true—that He will teach us all things, remind us of all Jesus spoke, lead us into all truth, and will not speak of Himself but of the Lord from Whom He takes all those things.
But the Counselor, the HolySpirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things, and will remind you of all that I said to you. (John 14:26)
13However when he, the Spirit of truth, has come, he will guide you into all truth, for he will not speak from himself; but whatever he hears, he will speak. He will declare to you things that are coming. 14He will glorify me, for he will take from what is mine, and will declare it to you. (John 16:13-14)
This experience of entering the rest and refreshing of God is the spiritual fulfillment of the Sabbath Day, first created and set aside by God at creation. More than a single, physical day (which is the shadow), it is the continual experience of resting from one's own labors. It is through ChristJesus that this is experienced, for He is the Vessel of the HolySpirit to us:
9There remains therefore a Sabbath rest for the people of God. 10For he who has entered into his rest has himself also rested from his works, as God did from his. 11Let us therefore give diligence to enter into that rest, lest anyone fall after the same example of disobedience. 12For the word of God is living, and active, and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing even to the dividing of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and is able to discern the thoughts and intentions of the heart. 13There is no creature that is hidden from his sight, but all things are naked and laid open before the eyes of him with whom we have to do. 14Having then a great high priest, who has passed through the heavens, Jesus, the Son of God, let us hold tightly to our confession. (Hebrews 4:9-14)
Lord Jesus, as our high priest according to Melchizedek's order (not that of Aaron and the Levites), receives us into the presence of God through this HolySpirit, where we receive mercy and grace:
15For we don't have a high priest who can't be touched with the feeling of our infirmities, but one who has been in all points tempted like we are, yet without sin. 16Let us therefore draw near with boldness to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy, and may find grace for help in time of need. (Hebrews 4:15-16)
This peace comes as we pray with the Spirit, Who builds us up upon the foundation of our new life, which is Christ Himself.
20But you, beloved, keep building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the HolySpirit. 21Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord JesusChrist to eternal life. (Jude 1:20-21)
26In the same way, the Spirit also helps our weaknesses, for we don't know how to pray as we ought. But the Spirit himself makes intercession for us with groanings which can't be uttered. 27He who searches the hearts knows what is on the Spirit's mind, because he makes intercession for the saints according to God. (Romans 8:26-27)
As Yahweh promised, He will be creating the fruit of our lips—we can't do it on our own. Its purpose will be not for fleshly ambitions, but rather to communicate with Him—our spirit speaking to His Spirit, through His Spirit and ours.
For he who speaks in another language speaks not to men, but to God; for no one understands; but in the Spirit he speaks mysteries. For if I pray in another language, my spirit prays, but my understanding is unfruitful. (1 Corinthians 14:2, 14)
Enter this rest and refreshing, promised long ago by Yahweh's prophets, and long fulfilled through the giving of His Spirit. Receive the Promise of the Father, after coming to put your trust in the Lord Jesus, by simply asking Him to fill you with that Spirit. Having done so, He will then be your source of peace within, enabling you to speak to Him in the spirit by His Spirit, bringing you rest and refreshing!
As you read this site, you will hopefully come to know Yahweh more fully.
But all of this continuing knowledge is useless unless and until you come into union with Him. I use the word union because it is truly a marriage. It is that deep connection we all seek, for which we most often look in other people. However, the truth is that our hearts will only be fulfilled when we enter that union in fullness with the One Who made us.
This is the grace of God, that He has not stayed distant for us only to worship as Creator. But He has come unto us, even become one of us—in His Son, ChristJesus—in order to share an intimate union with us. He desires such closeness that it truly will envelope our entire life, transforming us into something new and wonderful.
You may have already entered this union with Him and only seek to know Him better through reading here. But if you have not, as you do read, let this Gospel sink into your heart as you read it now.
God loves you, and has cast your sins into the sea. He has sent His only Son as the Savior of the world—that includes you.
That Son, JesusChrist, was born as a man through a virgin who had given her life to Yahweh; He lived without sin, reflected the glory of His Father, God, in all His words and deeds, and was persecuted even unto death because of it.
His death upon a cross was the powerful explosion that separated you from your life of death. It remains for you, now, to enter into that death with Him. As you die to the one you are now, a person separated from God from your many sins, you will be born anew, with a nature predisposed to live rightly. This gift is free to you, with nothing you can do to earn it. It is the mercy of God to offer it to you, as He loves you so much! All you must do is receive it by trusting Him to have delivered you. Simply place your life in His hands and embrace the freedom that came through that death on the cross.
The Gospel is that Jesus did not remain dead, but rose again on the third day after His crucifixion! Death could not hold Him, as He was without sin. And so death will not be able to hold you, as you identify with Him fully through your trust in Him. Let go of yourself and confess Him as Lord of your life. The power of His death and resurrection will work in you all that your Creator has destined for you. You will truly enter a new life and experience that intimate union you have been seeking all of your life.
So ponder these words as you read here of this great God—Yahweh—and all that He has revealed to His creation. Let His Spirit testify to your heart that these words are true, that God is Love, and that He sent His Son so that you might receive the life that is unbound by time and space. As you feel that witness in your heart, simply believe and receive what He is offering to you, even now, and begin your new life as a child of God.
Please write to me and let me know when you take this step, as I will be your brother in Christ—we will be one in Him!
